Based in Ontario, Canada, Shayan Khimji studies medicine and pursues excellence in academics, clinical practice, and research. Shayan Khimji has completed diverse clerkship rotations across hepatobiliary surgery to endocrine medicine, attaining top evaluative marks in patient interaction, teamwork, reliability, and professionalism.
Another growth experience for Shayan Khimji is a supervised clinical observership at the Afiya Pain Institute. His work required translating clinical observations into a scholarly case study focused on a case of pulsed radiofrequency for the management of spinal stenosis. Shayan Khimji’s completed paper on “Lumbar Dorsal Root Ganglion Pulsed Radiofrequency for Spinal Stenosis with an Atypical Fluoroscopic Neurogram: A Case Study highlighted unexpected imaging findings and their clinical implications.
Shayan Khimji Khimji has also gained exposure to a community-focused approach to orthopedic injury rehabilitation through a role as a physiotherapy assistant at Oshawa Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center. He has assisted patients with serious issues such as shoulder dislocation, rotator cuff injury, and ACL reconstruction in moving toward increased mobility and overall wellness.
